We have finalized our Louisville 2020 conference for September 22-24th. Kara Hatzai has secured the Brown Hotel and the Churchill Downs racing day, as well as all side trips and transportation. Unfortunately, the 'Come From Away’ musical has no more Louisville dates for the remainder of the year. This challenge opened up an opportunity for a new Wednesday night event, so we will have a dinner cruise and raffle on The Belle of Louisville, the largest paddle boat in the US. Their beautiful ballroom can hold almost 300 people! It promises to be a spectacular Wednesday night event.
Due to this new dinner event, there is a price difference in the conference fee. Because of the complicated process of refunding partial credits, we have decided to issue full and complete refunds to all conference attendees who’ve already paid. We brainstormed multiple options, and found that with our current website structure, this would be the least amount of overload for our treasurer.
Once all conference refunds are issued, we will rework the registration site with the updated conference details, and will open registration for the new date. We expect that all refunds will be completed by the end of this month, and will have the new registration up and running in July. Stay tuned!
Thank you for the continued encouragement, patience, and support you all have shown us, and each other, throughout this time. It doesn’t go unnoticed. We appreciate each and every one of you, and we look forward to seeing you in Louisville in September.
The Brown Hotel, which is hosting our Louisville conference, has been extremely helpful and accommodating throughout this uncertain time. This morning, after a conversation discussing the best way for them to code this postponement, they are going to show our May conference as “cancelled” in their system until we rebook the new fall date with them. This cancellation will prompt an auto-email to anyone with a room booked under our conference code. All this means is that when the new date is chosen, you will simply have to make a new reservation with them. They have guaranteed that the rate will not go up. We apologize for this minor inconvenience, and once again, thank you for your patience as we weather this together!
